Me A Mum was born from a simple belief — that every person deserves warmth, dignity, protection and the feeling of being cared for.
The story did not
begin with a store.
It began with a visit.
There are moments in life that quietly change the way you see the world.
For us, one of those moments came during a visit to an orphanage. Meeting the children there made us look beyond what we normally see and think much more deeply about what it means to feel safe, valued and cared for.
We realised that for some children, the basic things we often take for granted — safety, timely care, affection and a secure place to belong — can be incredibly difficult to access.
One little girl
changed the way
we understood
care.
Among the children was a little girl whose story stayed with us long after we left.
She had been found in a remote place after suffering a severe animal attack. By the time she received the medical attention she needed, precious time had already passed.
The lack of timely treatment and the delay in getting her the right care had allowed her condition to become extremely serious.
It was difficult to see a child having to live with the consequences of circumstances she had never chosen and could never have understood.
A mother's care.
A cub's whole world.
In the wild, a lioness stays close, guides her cub and helps it feel protected as it discovers the world. That instinctive bond reflects what we believe care should feel like: present, gentle and dependable.
At Me A Mum, we want the things that surround you at home to carry that same feeling of comfort, warmth and belonging.
Sometimes, what changes
a life is not something
extraordinary.
It is simply care,
given in time.
That thought stayed with us.
We began to understand
that care cannot wait.
The experience changed something inside us. It made us think about how easily vulnerability can become invisible when people do not have access to timely support.
It also reminded us that compassion is not just about feeling sorry for someone.
Compassion is choosing to care. And choosing to do something about it.
Our journey also brought
us closer to the spirit of
Mother Teresa's mission.
The work and mission associated with Mother Teresa showed us another powerful expression of care — serving people with dignity, compassion and love, especially those who are most vulnerable.
Being able to contribute towards that mission became deeply meaningful to us.
It strengthened a belief that had already begun growing inside us:
